Jake Paul called out by record-holder ex-UFC champ who would “love” to fight
Wade PlemJake Paul has been called out by former UFC champion Tony Ferguson as the lightweight is eager to fight the YouTuber-turned-boxer on the back of his record-tying losing streak inside the Octagon.
Even though he says he’s focused on fighting ‘real’ boxers these days, Jake Paul has done plenty of verbal sparring with different mixed martial artists. The ‘Problem Child’ has gone after the likes of Conor McGregor, Dana White, Jorge Masvidal, and Nate Diaz in the past, to name just a few.
Given that he’s beaten Diaz and former UFC star Tyron Woodley, there have been shots sent his way from other UFC fighters too – especially those who are looking to fight him now that they’re moving away from the Octagon.
Seeing as he’s on a UFC record-tying streak of seven losses, Tony Ferguson is someone who certainly falls into that category too, and he’s taken a few digs at Jake recently.
Tony Ferguson would “love” to fight Jake Paul
That’s right, the former interim lightweight champion has gone after Jake, claiming that he wants to take on the YouTuber-turned-boxer in a fight.
“Look, I’m gonna be real with you. I’m calling out Jake. I would love to fight you, dude,” Ferguson said on the JAXXON Podcast.
“I don’t call or talk to too many people or call them out but Jake is the one in a lot of these up-and-coming people – when I talked about insurance for fighters and so on, I plant that seed and a lot of these other fighters, they go and they take it to another level.”
El Cucuy previously said he’s not retiring from fighting, so it could be that he’s looking to take on Jake in the PFL.
The ‘Problem Child’ signed a multi-year deal with the MMA organization and is expected to debut in 2024. It remains to be seen if Ferguson would fit the bill, especially given he’s a lightweight and Jake typically fights at cruiserweight.
