10 most popular guns in Warzone: Best meta weapons in Season 6
DexertoWith so many weapons to pick from across Warzone’s vast arsenal, Call of Duty players are in a constant battle to figure out which are the most popular, and Season 6 is no exception.
Warzone is constantly adding new guns to its roster, with this season introducing the DTIR 30-06 and Kastov LSW. Additionally, developer Raven Software is constantly introducing buffs and nerfs, with these balance changes causing the meta to evolve, making it hard to know what guns are still worth using.
From the hard-hitting SVA 545 to the laser-accurate STG44, Warzone players have plenty of competitive options to pick between. To avoid getting overwhelmed, you need to know which weapons stand out in such a diverse meta.
Naturally, the best guns are typically the most used. Using data from WZRanked, here are the 10 most popular guns in Warzone right now that players are most interested in and using on their loadouts.
Most used guns in Warzone
1. Superi 46 – 35.36%
The Superi 46 is a fast-handling weapon that’s perfectly suited to playing aggressively. Back in Season 4, it was the best SMG in the game, and now it has reclaimed its title as the most popular weapon in the meta. It’s no surprise either, with this gun dominating at close-range and even holding its own at medium range thanks to its low recoil.
A high-mobility build of this gun provides faster movement than any other primary weapon. Throw in its respectable damage and controllable recoil, and there are a lot of reasons to use this submachine gun in Season 6. However, it has received a fair few nerfs since its release, so you shouldn’t expect the Superi 46 to be as dominant as it was back in its prime.
2. DTIR 30-06 – 16.71%
Added in Season 6, the DTIR 30-06 quickly established itself as the best gun in Warzone, a title that it has retained since even after numerous nerfs. It performs similarly to the STG44, offering comparably low recoil and high ease of use. That’s a combination that’s guaranteed to attract players, and exactly what has led to its massive popularity.
It even beats out the STG44 due to its higher damage, as while the STG44 has a time to kill of 700 ms, the DTIR can down enemies in just 636 ms, making it one of the fastest killing weapons in the game. That kind of damage combined with the gun’s high accuracy was bound to make it a fan favorite, and it’s likely to remain that way, at least until Black Ops 6’s upcoming integration.
3. Kar98k – 9.97%
Snipers have been meta in Warzone since day one, but it was the Kar98k that saw them take over entirely. Since its initial preeminence, the Kar98k has been nerfed several times, but it’s still a really good weapon. Its fast handling makes it the best sniper in Warzone, and powerful snipers are always going to be popular.
In saying that, it isn’t flawless. The Kar98k is mainly used in Resurgence game modes, where the mode’s smaller maps play to its strengths. Since the Kar98k has a limited one-shot kill range of 76 meters, it can struggle on larger maps like Urzikstan. In modes where these big maps are in rotation, you are better off using the KATT-AMR, as it can down enemies in one shot at any range.
4. Static-HV – 9.03%
The Static-HV avoided further nerfs in Season 6 following its dominance last season. As such, it has remained the best SMG in Warzone, beating out the Striker and Superi 46, even though the Superi has proven more popular. Just like before, it has great damage and mobility for getting around the map quickly, making it a strong choice for those wanting to rack up lots of kills.
If you love the run-and-gun playstyle, you will feel at home using this compact weapon. You can zoom around Urzikstan, Rebirth Island, or wherever else to your heart’s content, which is the main reason why it is so popular. There will always be a large group of players who want to play fast, and the Static-HV is the best option to do so.
5. MCW – 5.83%
Be it the regular version or with the JAK Raven Kit equipped, the MCW has always been a fan favorite. In truth, it wasn’t meta for the longest time, being outclassed by other options. However, another set of buffs in Season 6 has seen the MCW become one of the best guns in Warzone and the fifth most popular.
It has the least recoil of any assault rifle, which is fantastic for both lower-skill players and those who want to kick back and relax. This makes it a great choice if you have a more casual mindset, hence its popularity. There will be times when you get outgunned by a stronger weapon, but when it comes to consistency and ease of use, nothing beats the MCW.
6. STG44 – 3.32%
Before its nerf last season, the STG44 was by far the best gun in Warzone. Unsurprisingly, it was also the most used gun, undermining every other assault rifle, LMG, and battle rifle. Following this period of dominance, Raven nerfed its damage, which has taken it from undoubtedly the best gun to a good gun that is no longer the undisputed king.
As such, the STG44 has seen a decline in popularity, with its high accuracy no longer proving enough to keep everyone interested. Several other guns are directly competing against this former powerhouse, with its time in the limelight officially finished. Obviously, it is still a great gun, but recent meta shifts mean you no longer need to use this classic AR to be competitive.
7. Reclaimer 18 – 2.19%
There’s no better proof that accessiblity is the biggest factor to determine popularity than the Reclaimer 18 being on this list. This rendition of the iconic SPAS-12 is Warzone’s most powerful shotgun, and by far the easiest gun to use in Call of Duty’s battle royale. Just get up close and pull the trigger, there’s little else to mastering this weapon.
Of course, this has led to it seeing a lot of use, with players always looking for ways to snag easy kills. This gun is especially popular in South America, with the region being infamous for the amount of shotguns that show up in lobbies. Regardless of your location, the Reclaimer 18 is a good choice if you want to sit back and dominate up close without having to try much at all.
8. KATT-AMR – 2.12%
Warzone’s sniper rifles have received minimal changes in recent seasons, but that hasn’t stopped them from remaining popular. Among the long-range marksman weapons, the KATT-AMR is the best option for modes outside of Resurgence, as has been the case for some time now. Its unrivalled ability to one shot at any range without special attachments ensures it will always have a place in the meta.
Truthfully, both the Kar98k and MORS are better weapons, but the KATT-AMR is the easiest to use of the three. It has a very high bullet velocity, so landing headshots at long range is nice and easy. Most players aren’t running around the map trying to rack up a ton of kills, and a heavier sniper like this is perfect for a slower-paced, more methodical playstyle.
9. FJX Horus – 1.88%
While not the most popular option in the current meta, the FJX Horus has reemerged as a genuine contender following a series of buffs. It now has solid damage range, a fast TTK, and some of the best handling stats in the game, making it a good choice if you enjoy playing more aggressively.
Is it a better option than the Superi 46? Probably not, but using the same gun all of the time can quickly get tiresome. This gun offers a strong alternative for when you need some variety and just want to get away from using the same old meta weapons. It’s not like you’ll be handicapping yourself much anyway, as the FJX Horus is a really good gun with the potential to dominate lobbies.
10. Kastov 762 – 1.40%
Sneaking in at number ten, the Kastov 762 is the only MW2 weapon on this list. It has been a reasonably popular option for some time, but big damage buffs have now turned it into a genuine meta contender, especially on Resurgence, where its increased recoil isn’t nearly as much of a concern given the smaller maps.
However, there are some big downsides to the Kastov 762 that limit its potential and are why it is less popular than other ARs like the STG44 and MCW. Since it is an MW2 gun, the Kastov suffers from having a lot of visual recoil and a limited attachment pool. This makes creating an effective loadout more difficult and means you are usually better off just using one of the newer guns instead.
