Best XM4 loadout in Warzone: Class setup, attachments, perks
Dexerto / ActivisionWarzone has integrated with Black Ops 6, meaning all the latest guns have been added to the battle royale. The XM4 has been a powerful choice in multiplayer and it has everything it needs to dominate the new Area 99 map.
There’s always been a place for low-recoil Assault Rifles in the battle royale meta, and the XM4 is set to fill that role in Season 1. This jack-of-all-trades AR has the power to go against the meta choices while being extremely easy to use.
But, you’ll need all the meta attachments, perks, and equipment to take full advantage of it, so here’s the best XM4 loadout for Warzone.
Best Warzone XM4 loadout attachments
- Optic: Jason Armory 2x
- Muzzle: Suppressor
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Magazine: Extended Mag 2
- Rear Grip: Commando Grip
- Stock: Balanced Stock
- Fire Mods: 5.56 Nato Overpressured
The best XM4 loadout is built to maximize damage, bullet velocity, and recoil control. With this loadout, you’ll dominate the medium-range, but it’s also speedy and accurate enough to deal with close-range and long-distance fights.
The Jason Armory 2x is the perfect Optic as it provides enough magnification to be accurate without zooming in so much you can’t fight up close.
The Commando Grip will hide you from the minimap without any negatives so it’s a fantastic choice. However, if you don’t care about your shots appearing on the map, you can opt for the Compensator to get more recoil control.
Combining the Reinforced Barrel with the 5.56 Nato Overpressured Ammo Mod will add a ton of bullet velocity and damage range, ensuring you can easily take down faraway targets. The Vertical Foregrip further helps you stay on target.
You’ll still want to be mobile, so the Commando Grip and Balanced Stock help with your movement, ADS, and sprint-to-fire speed. Finally, the Extended Mag 2 gives you 60 rounds to play with so you can take down several enemies before reloading.
Best Warzone XM4 perks and equipment
- Perk 1: Dexterity
- Perk 2: Quick Fix
- Perk 3: Tempered
- Wildcard: Gunfighter
- Lethal Equipment: Semtex
- Tactical Equipment: Smoke Grenade
The Dexterity perk will make you more accurate when jumping, sliding, and diving, as well as reducing fall damage which is great when trying to make a quick getaway or rush a weak enemy.
Quick Fix returns and is as powerful as ever, allowing you to start regenerating health immediately after killing an enemy or inserting an armor plate. Tempered also comes back, letting you get full armor with only two plates instead of three.
We’ve opted for the Gunfighter Wildcard to equip three more attachments and make your XM4 more accurate. You could also choose Overkill to have two primary weapons in your loadout, but it shouldn’t be too hard to loot an SMG.
For equipment, you can’t go wrong with combining Semtex and Smoke Grenades. Semtex deals some quick splash damage and Smokes will conceal you when moving from cover to cover.

Where is the XM4 in the Warzone meta?
Considering it’s the first Assault Rifle you’ll unlock, it’s hard to go wrong with the XM4. It’s been one of my favorite guns to use in Black Ops 6 multiplayer and it has everything it needs to be a standout choice in Warzone too.
We’ll need to wait to see how the meta shapes up as Season 1 goes on, but the XM4 is sure to be a fantastic early-game choice.
How to unlock XM4 in Warzone
The XM4 is immediately unlocked in Warzone so as soon as you go to build your custom loadout, it’ll be there waiting for you.
Since it’s unlocked early, you don’t even need to worry about using up a Prestige token, it’ll always be there.
Best XM4 alternatives
The Model L is sure to be another fantastic choice in Warzone as it’s almost identical to the XM4 but even easier to use. Or, if you’d prefer a bigger mag size, the XMG light machine gun can put down a ton of damage.
