Best RAM-7 Loadout for MW3: Class setup, Attachments, Perks & more
ActivisionIf you can control its recoil the RAM-7 is undoubtedly one of the best weapons in Modern Warfare 3. To help you do just that we’ve put together the best RAM-7 loadout to use in MW3 including attachments, Perks, and more.
The assault rifle meta has evolved a lot since Modern Warfare 3 first launched. The early days saw both of the burst weapons proving top tier but after they were nerfed it was the likes of the MCW and Holger 556 that rose to prominence.
In Season 2, the meta has shifted yet again with both the new BP50 and the dominant SVA 545 taking over. Not far behind them though is the RAM-7 which can compete against just about anything assuming you can handle its recoil.
To have an easier time keeping this powerful assault rifle on target you’ll want to use our optimized RAM-7 loadout in MW3.

Best RAM-7 MW3 loadout
- Muzzle: Komodo Heavy
- Barrel: XRK Coremark 40 Heavy Barrel
- Optic: Slate Reflector
- Stock: HVS 3.4 Pad
- Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
While its TTK is impressive, the RAM-7 suffers from having significant recoil which can make it inconsistent when compared to other ARs. The most impactful attachment to fix this problem is the XRK Coremark 40 Heavy Barrel which is worth using despite the large penalty to mobility it gives.
That alone doesn’t make the RAM-7 accurate enough though so it’s also recommended to equip the Komodo Heavy muzzle and HVS 3.4 Pad stock. With all three of these attachments combined the RAM-7 becomes a surprisingly accurate weapon that even lower-skill players can make the most of.
Unfortunately, these recoil-reducing attachments make the RAM-7 much slower so to improve handling use the DR-6 Handstop underbarrel. Finally, the RAM-7’s iron sights aren’t always ideal so it’s best to equip a suitable close to medium-range optic like the Slate Reflector.
RAM-7 MW3 Loadout: Perks and Equipment
- Vest: CCT Comms Vest
- Gloves: Scavenger Gloves
- Boots: Lightweight Boots
- Gear: Bone Conduction Headset
- Gear: EOD Padding
The RAM-7 isn’t suited to aggressive play so we mainly opt for perks that instead benefit a slower playstyle in MW3. The CCT Comms Vest is great for this as the expanded radar and longer radar pings are perfect for reading the map quickly and avoiding getting caught off guard.
To make it as difficult as possible for other players to push you we recommend using both the Bone Conduction Headset and EOD Padding. When combined these not only make enemy footsteps far louder but also help you survive incoming explosives from either enemy lethal equipment or launchers.
Though it may not seem an obvious choice for a slower playstyle, Scavenger Gloves are useful for collecting ammo from players you take out. You’ll most likely be going on quite a few lengthy killstreaks with this loadout so being able to refresh your supplies is a must.
Finally, Lightweight Boots are useful for quickly repositioning when necessary with them increasing both movement and swim speed. Those wanting to play more aggressively should use the Covert Sneakers instead.
How to unlock RAM-7 in Modern Warfare 3
The RAM-7 is unlocked through the Armory by completing 3 daily challenges or winning matches in multiplayer. It was previously available as an unlock by completing Sector A7 of the Season 1 Battle Pass.
Best alternative to RAM-7 in MW3
The BAS-B is another high-recoil, high-damage weapon that can excel in the right hands. It has more damage range than the RAM-7 but is held back by having a smaller magazine which will leave you vulnerable at times.
