Best Warzone SMG loadouts in Season 1

When it comes to close-range duels, SMGs dominate Warzone’s meta. For this reason, using a powerful submachine gun equipped with the best loadout possible is a must to win more games.

While meta assault rifles and LMGs are great options for long-range gunfights, SMGs are far superior up close. Not only do they kill faster, but they also offer better mobility and handling for getting the jump on enemy players.

Using a weak SMG will leave you outgunned by others with faster TTKs, better handling, and less recoil. In contrast, our recommended SMG builds will help you rack up kills and win more Warzone matches.

Best SMG loadouts

These are the five best SMG loadouts to run in Season 1 to make sure that you are using the strongest builds possible:

1. Jackal PDW

Jackal PDW loadout in Warzone
  • Barrel: Long Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Rear Grip: CQB Grip
  • Stock: Balanced Stock

Like multiplayer, the Jackal PDW is the king of SMGs for battle royale matches. In the SMG’s first damage range up to 11 meters, the 616-millisecond time-to-kill speed is one of the best in the class, and the 704 ms time in the second range out to 20.5 meters is the best among meta contenders.

Other SMGs offer a better rate of fire, but you would be hard-pressed to find a more well-rounded option considering the SMG’s excellent mobility and handling.

Our loadout focuses on extending the SMG’s damage range while improving accuracy and mobility. The CQB Grip and Balanced Stock address movement, ADS, slide-to-fire, and sprint-to-fire speeds.

Meanwhile, the Long Barrel improves damage range and the Vertical Foregrip reduces horizontal recoil.

If you want to use Gunfighter and add three more attachments, we recommend adding a Compensator muzzle to reduce vertical recoil, the Sterlock Laser to tighten accuracy when swapping from hipfire to aiming, and Overpressured rounds to improve bullet velocity.

2. Static-HV

The best Static-HV loadout to use in Warzone.

Best Static-HV Warzone Loadout

  • Muzzle: Quartermaster Suppressor
  • Barrel: Garrote-8 Long Barrel
  • Optic: JAK Glassless Optic
  • Stock: Spry 34 Light Stock
  • Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop

After dominating the previous iteration of Warzone during MW3, the Static-HV was hit by several nerfs targeted at its damage range and bullet velocity.

However, the update only targeted its maximum and medium damage ranges, meaning the SMG still shreds through enemies up close.

This meta loadout focuses on improving recoil control while maintaining the Static’s excellent mobility. The Spry 34 Light Stock is the most important attachment for this build, as it provides an unrivaled boost to several key stats, including Sprint Speed, Movement Speed, and ADS Speed.

3. PP-919

PP-919 loadout in Warzone

PP-919 time-to-kill speeds don’t impress much in the first or second damage range, but the SMG is still an amazing meta weapon in Season 1 because of its accuracy, magazine size, and mobility.

Thanks to the PP-919 already having a base magazine size of 64 you don’t need to use an extended mag attachment. That frees up space to use a Suppressor, which keeps you off the mini-map while firing. This SMG suffers from lower bullet velocity than other meta contenders, so Overpressured ammunition helps that issue.

To round out this loadout, the Balanced Stock and CQB Grip are staples for improving mobility of any SMG loadout. Lastly, the Reinforced Barrel helps bullet velocity and damage range.

4. C9

C9 loadout in Warzone
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Rear Grip: CQB Grip
  • Stock: Balanced Stock

Just about every Call of Duty title has featured the MP5, and Black Ops 6 is no different. The C9 is the latest iteration and performs just as well as fans remember. Impressive fire rate, aim down sight speed, and great mobility make the C9 a powerhouse in close-range gunfights.

Poor damage drop off and average bullet velocity hold the SMG back from being a top meta contender, but it still stands out with the right set of attachments.

Our loadout looks similar to our other SMG builds, targeting bullet velocity, magazine capacity, ammunition, and recoil control.

5. KSV

KSV loadout in Warzone

If you are confident in your aim, the KSV might just be the perfect short-range weapon for you. Landing two headshots up to 13 meters away improves the TTK speed from 675ms to 600, which is the second best in Warzone only behind the Static HV.

Our loadout uses similar attachments to our previous benefits.

Meta analysis

Based on stats alone, the Static-HV is the best SMG in Warzone Season 1. If you land at least one headshot on an enemy, the SMG’s 584-millisecond time-to-kill speed up to 10.2 meters is the best in the battle royale. So, for high-skilled players, there isn’t a better close-range meta weapon.

There is a catch, though, because CoD YouTuber JGOD discovered that slide-to-fire times are not working correctly on MW2 and MW3 weapons, meaning BO6 weapons fire much faster while sliding.

So with that in mind, the Jackal PDW edges it out as the best SMG in Warzone Season 1. As we previously mentioned, the SMG takes down enemies in the blink of an eye and boasts excellent mobility.
