Buffed MW3 rifle is meta in Warzone again but it is still slept-on in Season 5 Reloaded
ActivisionOne of Warzone’s previously most popular battle rifles is meta again after a buff, however, some fans are still sleeping on the MW3 gun.
Over the last few months, as Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 have gone through different updates, some of the most-used and deadliest weapons have fallen off the meta radar. When it comes to the battle royale, this regularly happens in the blink of an eye.
The SOA Subverter falls into that too. The Modern Warfare 3 battle rifle was a top meta option during Season 2 Reloaded and a little bit afterward thanks to its damage profiles.
As noted, it has fallen off since then and not is being used in Warzone whatsoever. However, Season 5 Reloaded looks to be changing that. The Subverter received a small buff in the new update, with its max damage range increased from 20.57m to 25.4m.
That buff has come at the same time as Warzone guru WhosImmortal highlighting it as the best battle rifle option in the game. “The Battle Rifle category is pretty competitive. The Bas-B is really good, the Sidewinder is underrated but the Subverter is the most consistent across the board,” he said in his August 21 video.

WhosImmortal doubled down on the Subverter’s consistency being it’s biggest asset and noted that it has a “clean” iron sight. So, you don’t have to waste an attachment there if you get to grips with the gun.
WZRanked stats back up the fact that it is slept-on. According to them, the battle rifle is the 20th most popular weapon. That puts it outside the top meta options by a fair way.
