Call of Duty Post Another Cryptic Black Ops 4 Teaser and This One is Much More Obvious – Pistol, Sniper and Molotov

Call of Duty have released two more teasers for the upcoming Black Ops 4 instalment, and these ones are much clearer than the last.

The official Call of Duty Twitter account earlier on May 13th tweeted out a short GIF image, in which the outline of a weapon barrel was barely visible – not much of a teaser for a game fundamentally about shooting guns.

However, Call of Duty then later posted two more teasers, very similar, but showing different GIFs, to their German and UK Facebook pages.

The German one is not that clear, in fact it is probably more difficult to make out than the first Twitter GIF.

However, the GIF posted to the official Call of Duty United Kingdom Facebook page is perhaps the best look we have had yet at footage from Black Ops 4.

There is what looks like a hand gun and sniper rifle of some kind being loaded and the barrel drawn, and then very obviously there is a molotov being lit.

Here is a closer look at each of the frames in the GIF, where you can quite clearly make out items.

This first frame looks a lot like a pistol barrel being loaded.
The second image is clearly a sniper rifle in the hands of a character.
And finally, this frame very clearly shows a molotov being lit.

The inclusion of a molotov cocktail is perhaps our first indication at the time zone of the game, as of course it is a fairly rudimentary weapon, popularized in Europe in the mid 20th century.

With a futuristic game it would be expected more advanced lethal throwables would be used, although it is possible that the game is set in a dystopian future, where technology has actually declined.

You can watch the other teaser from the German Facebook page below, although it is more difficult to clearly make out anything in this one.

The hint at a possible historical time period will excite some fans, but at this point anything is possible.

Fans will get their first full glimpse of the game on May 17th at the community reveal event, streamed at 10am PDT on Call of Duty’s Twitch channel.
