“Easy to use” Warzone AR is new meta after surprise buff
One of the community’s leading analysts has praised an assault rifle that received a surprise buff as now being one of the best ARs in Warzone thanks to its incredible ease of use.
Ever since the Season 2 update, the Call of Duty developers have been busy implementing smaller weapon changes to keep the meta feeling fresh. From the TAQ Evolvere’s rework to the MCW’s sizable buffs, Warzone’s meta has been shifting fast.
Another surprise update was released on February 21, 2024, which primarily focused on Richochet, Warzone’s anti-cheat. However, there were also weapon tweaks that have had a far bigger impact than first anticipated.
The MTZ-556 was one of the weapons affected, receiving a huge buff that saw several key stats improved. This buff not only reduced the rifle’s recoil but also increased its damage and damage range making it much more lethal.
Overlooked Warzone assault rifle is meta after surprise buff
In his most recent video covering the buff, Warzone analyst TrueGameData praised the MTZ-556 describing it as “easier to use,” than the RAM-7, Bruen Mk9, and Holger 26 while also highlighting how it offers a superior TTK up to 48 meters, which can be further improved by using attachments.
Here is the MTZ-556 loadout recommended by TrueGameData that makes the most out of the AR’s strengths:
- Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
- Barrel: MTZ Drifter Heavy Long Barrel
- Optic: Corio Eagleseye 2.5x
- Stock: MTZ Marauder Stock
- Magazine: 50 Round Drum
Impressed by the MTZ-556’s post-buff performance, TrueGameData expressed, “The MTZ is probably going to be the meta for long range or just an easier to use weapon,” and described it as the, “Best low recoil AR right now.”
One of the most impressive segments featured a recoil comparison between the MTZ-556 and the meta SVA 545. The SVA 545 is an AR that many consider to be extremely accurate, but the MTZ-556 produces half the overall recoil making it much easier to control than even the SVA 545.
According to WZRanked, the wider Warzone community has yet to adopt the MTZ-556 with it being the 19th most used weapon with just a 0.48% usage rate as of February 22, 2024. However, that is expected to change as more players catch on to how strong this newly buffed AR is.
