Warzone players are out of patience with the current game and claim they would pay a lot of money to play the original version again.

The first version of Warzone came out in 2020, and took the battle royale genre by storm, becoming one of the most popular options in the genre.

Since then, the game has gone through a lot of changes and updates, to the point of being renamed Warzone 2.0 last year.

However, players are not happy with the place the game is at right now and are asking for the opportunity to play the original again, even at a steep price.

Warzone players want to pay $1000 for original game’s return

A post was created on the Warzone subreddit looking back at the original title with fondness, saying, “Covid Warzone was a simpler time.”

The post came with a variety of clips from the game, showing off the weapons, map areas, and more that no longer exist in the current version.

One comment summed up the community’s response to the post best: “This was peak warzone…”

Another user jumped in, saying: “It’s hard to grasp how special this was. The game had issues but it felt like a fairly even playing field. It was the most fun I’ve ever had on a game.”

One fan even went so far as to assign a large monetary value to their desire to play the original Warzone again: “I would pay $1000 for this right now. No sloppy seizure movement and ridiculous skins.”

Surprisingly, others were on board with paying this amount for the game, with one response agreeing: “I honestly would too.”

It is important to note that the original Warzone released right as the global health crisis hit, and players had nothing to do but stay home and play it, so nostalgia is a huge part of it.

However, the comments here show that there are legitimate parts of the first version that players are missing like the UI, the guns, the Verdansk map, and “better gameplay.”

While the offer to pay $1,000 was mostly tongue-in-cheek, it is clear that the fans miss the game, and it is yet to be seen if the upcoming return of Verdasnk will help with that at all.
