Frustrating Modern Warfare glitch stops players from reloading

Jacob Hale

An annoying glitch in Modern Warfare is preventing players from reloading their weapons for seemingly no reason at all.

The game has seen its fair share of bugs, glitches, and exploits since it released in October 2019, with bizarre events occurring including turning maps into a psychedelic experience and weapons simply not running out of ammo… ever.

This is all par for the course of a popular game such as Call of Duty, and the developers will often work endlessly to try and negate the number of bugs operating in their game – but this one seems to have slipped through the net, and it’s pretty annoying.

Despite the issues it has faced, Modern Warfare has still been one of the biggest games released in this generation of consoles.

Posted to Reddit by a player called CHARL13is, they appear to be playing a game of Infected when his Model 680 shotgun simply stops reloading.

As the enemies make their way up to the top of Rust where CHARL13’s team is situated, it seems obvious enough that reigning shotgun shells down upon them is a guaranteed route to success, simply picking them off as they head in a straight line towards you.

This wasn’t the case, however, as soon enough CHARL13’s shotgun just stops reloading. While the character is still doing the animation of putting the slugs into the weapon, the number simply flickers between 0 and 1, while never actually filling up.

The Redditor was forced to switch to their pistol, instead, packing a lot less of a punch than the shotgun, and no matter what they tried they were unable to reload the Model 680.

Eventually, the gaggle of infected managed to overrun the top section of Rust and take them out, but this may never have happened had the reload not bugged out.

It’s not clear yet whether Infinity Ward is aware of this issue, but they’ll want to find out why it happened as soon as possible so they can get a fix out and stop this from happening in the future.
