Infinity Ward insiders add fuel to MW4 rumors, think CoD 2019 will be best ever

The next Call of Duty title still hasn’t been announced but it is widely expected to be Modern Warfare 4. An artist at Infinity Ward has teased a potential MW4 release.

Next Call of Duty game announcement

An announcement for the next Call of Duty game is reportedly coming this month.

While this hasn’t been confirmed, it is reasonable to expect as such because of the history surrounding previous Call of Duty titles. In fact even if we go back to Modern Warfare 2, which was released in 2009, none of the games since were announced after May.

Modern Warfare 3 has one the latest announcement dates in Call of Duty history – May 27…

Of the 10 games since then, four were announced in May, four in April, one in March and two in February. Unless Infinity Ward provide the latest Call of Duty announcement in recent memory then we can expect an announcement shortly.

The full list of list of when each previous CoD game was announced is as follows:

  • Modern Warfare 2: February, 2009
  • Black Ops 1: April, 2010
  • Modern Warfare 3: May, 2011
  • Black Ops 2: May, 2012
  • Ghosts: May, 2013
  • Advanced Warfare: May, 2014
  • Black Ops 3: April, 2015
  • Infinite Warfare: April, 2016
  • WW2: April, 2017
  • Black Ops 4: March, 2018

Former Call of Duty employee drops major Modern Warfare 4 hint

Former Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward, Robert ‘fourzerotwo’ Bowling, has shared arguably the most conclusive hint that the next Call of Duty game will indeed be MW4. Bowling responded to one Call of Duty fan who said, in as many words, I’ll **** myself if the next game is MW4 with: “You better buy some brown pants.”

If this wasn’t enough of a hint, on May 9 Bowling responded to a photoshopped image of himself with a MW4 t-shirt saying: “You guys are going to get me in trouble.”

Despite all of the evidence and clues seemingly beginning to stack up, Modern Warfare 4 is still totally unconfirmed. However, at this point, it might be the worst kept secret in gaming.

Infinity Ward artist teasing

John Dunford, who is an artist at Infinity Ward, has actually responded to a couple of tweets regarding the next CoD game. Prior to this he hadn’t responded to any fan questions regarding the much awaited game.

While the responses provide little to no information, which is wise as he will be of course under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), the responses in themselves may suggest something is just around the corner.

After one Twitter user asked how good their next game will be, Dunford replied: “GOAT”. For those who don’t know GOAT is an acronym for the greatest of all time.

Dunford and others associated with the game are clearly very confident that Modern Warfare 4 (not confirmed yet) will be one of, if not the, best Call of Duty games yet.

The same person then asked what the best part of it is, Dunford replied with nothing more than a zip faced emoji, which basically said I can’t tell you. Of course he’s right, he can’t.

With the greater than usual hype surrounding this new Call of Duty game, May could be a huge month!
