Players started reporting the problem on sites like Twitter, where they also vented frustration about the service being down or inaccessible for thousands of people.
The official Xbox Support Twitter updated players and said that they were “aware that some of you might be having issues with playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4,” and promised to keep fans informed of any future updates.

While some players have reported that they’re unable to log in, others say they have no problems getting on Xbox Live and hopping into matches.
Whatever is causing the problems, it’s just the latest issue CoD players on Xbox Live have had to deal with in the past week, alone.
On March 15, the service kicked players offline for a couple of hours before things got back on track later in the day – and that came after another outage the day before.
are the #modernwarfare servers down rn ? or is it just me ? @CallofDutyDE @CallofDuty

The bad news is that these outages seem to be happening more frequently, which makes sense, since more people are on getting Xbox Live while they’re home all day due to current global affairs.
There is some good news, though; these problems seem to have been fixed fairly quickly by Microsoft thus far, so hopefully CoD players on Xbox aren’t left in the cold for too long.
This latest outage doesn’t seem to be as widespread as ones in the past either, so there’s a good chance you might not even be affected when you log in.
At the time of writing, both games still seem to be unable to connect to Xbox Live for some players, and there’s no word exactly as to when they’ll be back online.
