MW3 players demand devs fulfill long-awaited matchmaking promise
ActivisionMW3 players are demanding that the developers own up to a promise they made awhile ago about matchmaking.
The matchmaking system in MW3 is a bit of a sore subject in the game’s community, with many players feeling that it is in a bad state.
And it seemed like the devs heard the complaints when they released a statement promising to discuss the system with the fans once Season 1 launched.
Now, we are a few weeks into the season and there has been no word about it, leaving fans disappointed and wanting answers.
MW3 fans are demanding a promised update to matchmaking
A player posted an image of the previous statement to the game’s subreddit, asking, “What ever became of this?”
The statement promises to address the community’s concerns about matchmaking, explaining that developers need time to “pull together all of [their] work” before they can have the conversation.
This post led to players questioning whether it will ever happen, with many of them expressing doubts: “I’m calling pure bs. They know what they’re doing.”
Another MW3 fan suggested the same thing, albeit in a much more sarcastic way: “They put their best intern on it to gather input from the devs. We should have an answer by Warzone 17.”
Some believe that it could happen once Season 1 Reloaded’s midseason release goes live next week.
Despite the demand for the discussion, some fans don’t think it is going to do much good:
“My best guess is that they’re going to talk about how it always prioritizes connection, skill is the lesser extent, it’s good for the game because of the fair matches, and the misconceptions about it are total fabrications. Once that happens, the community is going to riot.”
The community has been questioning the matchmaking fortitude of COD games for a long time, and MW3 is just another example in a long list.
Whether or not substantial changes will ever arrive remains to be seen.
