OpTic Crimsix hilariously kills himself and teammate to lose Control round on Black Ops 4

Matt Porter

OpTic Gaming pro player Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter is widely considered to be one of the greatest Call of Duty players of all time, but as he showed, even the best can make amusing mistakes.

Crimsix was playing a pickup game of the brand new game mode ‘Control’ alongside nine other Call of Duty pros on the map Frequency.

The veteran player was attempting to capture the B zone located on the north side of the map alongside Luminosity Gaming’s Nicholas “Classic” DiCostanzo, with the duo left as the last members of their team alive.

Facing three enemies, with neither team having any respawns available to use, Crimsix decided to use his hard-earned killstreaks in an attempt to secure the round for his squad – using his Lightning Strike so he could see where enemy players were on the map.

He spotted the three enemies coming towards B, and quickly called out the information to Classic, placing his Lightning Strike to go off on the runway their opponents would have to push.

Unfortunately, Crimsix miscalculated the positioning of his killstreak, as the bombs rained down and took out both Crimsix and Classic, without touching any of their opponents!

The OpTic Gaming star couldn’t believe what happened, screaming: “What?!” over and over again, while Classic yelled “You motherfucker! Why didn’t you use the Hellstorm?”

“I didn’t even put them close!” replied Crimsix, while pleading with viewers of his stream to back him up.

While this mistake may have cost his team the round, it’s definitely better that he makes it now than when the pro season begins at CWL Vegas on December 7!
