“Sleeper” LMG with deadly TTK is now meta after Warzone changes
ActivisionOne of Modern Warfare 3’s “sleeper” LMGs is proving to be pretty deadly in Warzone after some of the other LMGs were nerfed in Season 1.
In years gone by, LMGs were viewed as too slow and heavy by some Call of Duty fans who would simply ignore them in favor of an assault rifle or SMG.
However, when it comes to Warzone, LMGs have had plenty of shine. The heavy-duty weapons obviously pack a punch with their high fire rate, but their ammo capacity is also what’s got them in the good books of many players. That’s without mentioning the fact that they barely drop off in TTK across the different damage ranges in the battle royale.
In Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 1, LMGs had been hit with some nerfs. Though, it wasn’t enough to scare some players off using them altogether. Those nerfs have actually helped propel some slept-on options up the popularity charts.
Best Holger 26 loadout in Warzone
That’s according to Warzone guru WhosImmortal, anyway, as he believes the Holger 26 is now a viable option for anyone who opts for LMGs over anything else.
“A lot of the LMGs ended up getting nerfed which, in turn, indirectly makes sort of a sleeper weapon a whole lot better,” the YouTuber said. “It does actually fry, this thing is surprisingly good.”
With the changes, the Holger 26 has a TTK of around 800 m/s, which is on par with the likes of more popular options in the form of the Bruen MK9 and TAQ Eradicator. The Holger, however, doesn’t drop off as much as those two when you stretch into fights over 30 meters.
- Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
- Barrel: Holger Factory barrel
- Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy support
- Optic: CoroioEagleseye 2.5x
- Stock: Ascent Lord stock
There aren’t many knocks on the Holger given that its mobility – movement and reloading speeds – are pretty middle of the pack for an LMG.
With Season 2 on the horizon, the devs may have changes up their sleeve that affect the Holger’s long-term chances at staying meta but, for now, it is worth using.
