Treyarch Confirms Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Will Be Playable at Upcoming Community Reveal Event
The community reveal event for the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is set for May 17th, and it looks like fans and media invitees will be getting more than they expected.
It was expected, given that is was named a “reveal” event, that we would be getting our first glimpses of a trailer and if we were lucky a gameplay demo, mainly focused on campaign.
In past years, the promotional cycles for Call of Duty releases have always focused on campaign initially, before moving on to multiplayer/zombies closer to release.
However, this may all be changing for Black Ops 4, especially if recent leaks claiming that campaign has been scrapped entirely for the new title.
Recent teasers from Treyarch themselves also hint that it will be multiplayer on show first, as they tweeted out images hinting at perks and the pick 10 system returning to create-a-class.
And if this is the case, we could be getting the earliest ever multiplayer reveal – and it may even be playable at the upcoming community event in California.
Treyarch have been sending out invites to random community members, presumably on the Call of Duty mailing list, and the invites state they will be the first to get “hands on”.
“As a valued member of the community, we want you to witness the global reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and be among the first to get hands-on with the game.”
It is predicted that the reveal event will likely be live streamed on Call of Duty’s Twitch channel, and perhaps on Facebook also, however it is unclear if this hands on experience will be shown publicly or kept under wraps.
