Underused MW3 SMG dominates Warzone after Season 2 buffs
ActivisionOne of Modern Warfare 3’s most underused SMGs is one of the best choices in Warzone after recent buffs as it stacks up well against some of the meta options.
In years gone by, the Warzone meta has gotten stale. At times, just one weapon has dominated, not leaving room for anything else, causing some frustrations for players who want to use different options.
However, those headaches have been solve in Modern Warfare 3. The battle royale’s meta is in its most diverse state for quite some time, with plenty of weapons thriving – including a fair few from Modern Warfare 2 too thanks to buffs and nerfs in Season 2.
It’s one of Modern Warfare 3’s most underused guns that is getting some love now, though, as one of the game’s most underused guns – the WSP-9 – is starting to get some love after a recent buff.
Best WSP-9 loadout in Warzone
That’s according to Warzone guru WhosImmortal who believes the SMG is one of the top options in Warzone and can compete with the current crop of meta guns.
“It just got buffed a decent amount with Season 2, it’s got really good mobility, it’s relatively easy to use, and it’s got a surprisingly good TTK in the close-range and the mid-range as well,” the YouTuber said in his February 27 video.
“This set-up in general is predictable in terms of control but also, it can fry and hold its own with pretty much every other SMG in the game at varying distances.”
- Muzzle: Shadowstrike Suppressor
- Barrel: Hiss Short Light Barrel
- Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
- Optic: MK.3 Reflector
- Magazine: 50-round mag

WhosImmortal further noted that while the SMG is super easy to control, it can be made even easier by using the ZEHMN 35 Compensator Flash Hider instead of the Shadowstrike Suppressor. However, using that will make you show up on the map.
Regardless of how you decide to tweak the loadout, the WSP-9 is clearly a powerful option. It just remains to be seen if it’ll become totally meta and displace something like the RAM-9.
