My Hero Academia fan’s Camie Utsushumi cosplay is top of her class
Instagram: blackkarmacosplay / Bone IncA My Hero Academia fan has shared her incredible take on Camie Utsushimi, bringing the character to life with her near-perfect rendition of the character.
My Hero Academia is one of the most popular animes in the world, following the story of Izuku Midoriya, a young boy born without a superpower who is gifted the incredible All For One Quirk from his idol All Might, before entering U. A. High School to learn how to control his new abilities as he works towards becoming a professional hero.
In season three, the students from U.A.’s Class 1-A are introduced to prospective heroes from their rival school Shiketsu as they try to earn their Provisional Licenses to go out and train in real-world situations. This meeting sees Camie Utsushimi appear in the show for the first time, and the character instantly became a fan favorite, with cosplayers immediately showing off their take on the fun and friendly character.
In the anime, Camie sports a skin-tight suit that covers her entire body, something which ‘blackkarmacosplay’ got down to a tee with her take on the character, which she wore to Katsucon 2020 in Maryland, USA. Sitting on top of her blonde hair is the signature Shinketsu hat, which every student is required to wear if they attend the prestigious school.
The attention to detail is excellent, with her black cap including the same red accents as the characters wear in the show, and even included the large golden ‘S’ on the front to signify the school that Camie attends. The cosplayer even included Utsushimi’s black and silver neck choker and the white cuffs she wears around her wrists, leaving no stone unturned in her quest to create the ultimate Camie cosplay.
The character is well-known for her laidback and cheeky demeanor, and blackkarmacosplay captured that perfectly with her pose, tipping her Shinketsu hat with a wry smile.
My Hero Academia is currently in its fourth season, following the story of Midoriya and his classmates as they progress through the Hero course at U.A. High on their journey to becoming pros, and Deku’s ultimate dream of becoming the symbol of peace like his mentor All Might.
The show is currently airing weekly, and for the first time ever is being simulcast in English and Japanese, so viewers can watch all the action unfold at the same time, no matter their language preferences.
