Sword Art Online cosplayer stuns fans as perfectly accurate Asuna Yuuki

Sword Art Online is one of the most popular series in Japan after its anime adaptation released in 2012. Viewers got hooked on the show’s story about players being trapped in virtual reality MMORPG.
A talented cosplayer shared her incredible true-to-life costume of Asuna, and had fans going wild with how much she looked like the skilled swordsman.
SAO cosplayer wows fans with perfect Asuna
While Sword Art’s first arc revolves around Kazuto Kirigaya, the protagonist befriends and falls in love with another player in the game named Asuna. The fierce warrior is one of the best swordsman in the series, and becomes central to the story.
Cosplayer ‘Melissa Líssova‘ shared her jaw-dropping take of the character on social media, and blew away fans with how accurate and detailed her costume is. She nailed the heroine’s long chestnut hair and hazel eyes.
The artist collaborated with photographer ‘tosuesan‘ who captured her posing as Asuna with her rapier drawn. She perfectly re-created the anime heroine’s first season outfit, when she belonged to the Knights of the Blood clan.

Melissa shared more photos of her cosplay on Instagram, which show how faithful her outfit is to the show. From her red and white trimmed pleated skirt, to the knee high socks with the cross emblem, it’s as if the character has jumped from out of the screen.

Fans of the series were stunned by the cosplay, such as user ‘razornemesis’ who exclaimed, “This cosplay is what can I say, shows how Asuna could look in Live Action!” Another user ‘straberyyy’ gushed “Best Asuna cosplay yet omg.”
As if the cosplay wasn’t already perfect, the talented artist used special effects in another photo to bring the anime to life. Re-creating a scene from the show, the artist uses the game’s UI menu to look at her skill level.
