CS:GO Vertigo map walkthrough – Tips, tricks and more
Vertigo is out now in CS:GO which means there’s a brand new map to master. Here’s a look at some of the tips and tricks for dominating on the new map.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been a mainstay in the competitive FPS community since its launch and that still hasn’t changed.
There are a lot of other games that have come out since then to rival it in the competitive sphere, PUBG, Overwatch, Call of Duty and Fortnite all come to mind, but CS:GO has remained a powerhouse.
Vertigo map details
Vertigo in CS:GO.
Vertigo takes place on a high-rise building in construction and features two different floors for players to roam around on.
The terrorists spawn on the lower floor and the counter-terrorists spawn on the top floor. There are three separate choke points on the map meaning the terrorists will have several options to choose from to make it upstairs.
There is one simple way to get down to the lower floor from the top and that’s jumping down an open elevator shaft. While the map does feature two floors, it is actually pretty small so you’ll run into action and rotate through it quite fast once the round begins. Listening to footsteps is key for this map, especially distinguishing between upstairs and downstairs.
Vertigo tips and tricks
Vertigo features a variety of ways counter-terrorists can gain a competitive edge. The above video, at around 3:46, shows they are able to stack three players to peak over the wall at the ramp. It’s surely not going to be a popular strategy to pull off but it is possible. This spot can also be prone to wallbanging so keep that in mind.
The video also showcases numerous other spots players will be able to get vantage points from that will counter the ‘normal’ vantage points. It also shows ways to counter these spots so don’t abuse them too much.
In the second video, there are even more spots that have been shown off for veteran players to take advantage of. This video shows many more wallbang spots that you’ll be able to pick off unsuspecting players with.
In fact, throughout the duration of this three-minute video, you’ll come out a lot more knowledgeable of wallbang spots more than anything, but you’ll also be able to see other ways to maneuver around the map.
As more players grow accustomed to this map, expect to see even more tips in the future. In the meantime, these tips should help you better grasp the reimagined Vertigo map.
