FaZe Clan managed to lift the trophy at IEM New York, seeing off competition from Team Vitality in the semi-final and OG in the grand final, each in three straight maps in a result that could be vital to this FaZe roster sticking together.

After a poor run of form which resulted in an early exit from ESL Pro League Season 12, it didn’t look good for this superstar lineup of players. With rumors of the Bosnian powerhouse NiKo being set to depart, many people dubbed this tournament as the lineups last dance.

But Counter-Strike’s Galacticos turned up and silenced any doubters that reared their head coming into the tournament. It is especially impressive as newcomer Markus ‘Kjaerbye’ Kjærbye was the one steering the ship, and he clearly did so brilliantly.

But, only time will tell if this lineup can stick together in the long run or if this was just the perfect last stand from FaZe Clan.
