Dead by Daylight: Castlevania – Release date, new killer Dracula, trailers & more

Dead by Daylight’s next Chapter, Castlevania, will be released later this year. Here’s everything you need to know.

Dead by Daylight has made a name for itself amongst video game horror fans, with each new crossover for the title garnering significant attention.

Now, Dead by Daylight aims to blend its contemporary frights with one of the most classic horror figures of all time: Dracula. This new Chapter is part of a collaboration between developer Behaviour Games and Konami.

Players will now have the unique opportunity to take control of the game’s first shapeshifter killer, a feature that is sure to revolutionize Dead by Daylight.

Dead by Daylight: Castlevania release date

Dead by Daylight’s Castlevania Chapter will be released on August 27, 2024. 

While this new chapter is currently available to play in an early test build on Steam, it will officially go live in August.

Dead by Daylight: Castlevania – New Killer Dracula 

For the first time ever, Dead by Daylight will introduce a shapeshifting killer, and who better to be bestowed this honor than Dracula?

Developer Behaviour Interactive recently revealed all the new gameplay elements introduced when playing as Dracula, including the ability to transform into a Wolf and track other player’s scents.

In addition, Dracula can transform into other creatures, burn his prey with flames while in vampire form, and have a bat companion to help him track down Survivors.

Furthermore, the devs revealed that “whenever Dracula is the featured killer in a game set on an original Dead by Daylight map, players will see his iconic castle looming on the horizon.”

However, they later confirmed that license maps will not feature Dracula’s castle, such as Alien’s Nostromo wreckage and Dungeons & Dragons’ Forgotten Ruins.

Dead by Daylight: Castlevania – New Survivor Trevor Belmont

Castlevania will also introduce a brand new Survivor, Trevor Belmont, who the devs describe as a “vampire hunter with unmatched skills.” 

Fans may recognize the character from the 1989 title Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse. Since then, Belmont has also appeared in other Castlevania titles, such as Curse of Darkness and Judgment.

Belmont is further described as having “an innate ability to seek out allies and work as a part of a team.”
