New Destiny 2 leaks have provided a first look at Bungie’s plans for the 10th anniversary of the franchise. From in-game items like new armor to physical goodies like a new nerf gun, here’s what we can expect.

It’s almost been a full decade since Destiny first hit store shelves. All the way back in 2014, Guardians first stepped foot in the Tower and began their journey fighting back against the Darkness.

While a great deal has changed since then, and we’re now seven years into Destiny 2, fans still harken back to those early days. Having to manually level up weapons, farming materials with long-winded resource runs on each planet, not to mention the original Dinklebot

To celebrate the game’s origins and its progress, Bungie looks set to host a 10th-anniversary event with rewards both in and out of the game. Here’s everything we know thanks to some early leaks.

When is Destiny 2’s 10th-anniversary event?

No exact date has been locked in for Destiny 2’s 10th-anniversary event just yet, but as the name implies, we can expect it to coincide with the game’s original release.

Destiny arrived on September 9, 2014. Thus, it’s safe to assume the 10th-anniversary event will fall around this date, perhaps even kicking off the very same day. We’ll be sure to update you here once it’s set in stone.

10th-anniversary event leads to new Destiny 2 armor

To “celebrate ten years of saving the universe,” Bungie is offering up a new set of Destiny 2 armor, a set that pays homage to the game’s very first looks for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks. This intel comes by way of a datamined graphic The Game Post got their hands on.

In order to grab this armor for yourself, leaks suggest we’ll need to “explore the Pale Heart and behind [our] hunt for hidden chests.”

10th-anniversary Legend Triumph

Beyond chasing armor pieces, there’s also a new Triumph coming to Destiny 2, according to the leaks. You can “officially become legend by unlocking the new Legend title.”

Below is the full list of objectives you’ll need to complete in order to nab the new Legend seal:

  • Collect all “Cayde-6 Stashes”.
  • Reach Guardian Rank 8 or higher.
  • Complete ritual activities with the “Veteran Legend” sets equipped.
  • Complete Timeline Reflections.
  • Decrypt engrams at Rahool.
  • Defeat enemies and loot engrams in the Skywatch with the “Veteran Legend” sets equipped.
  • Claim the Anniversary Armor ornaments from the Special Deliveries Terminal.

Ace of Spades nerf gun

Of course, it wouldn’t be a real celebration without some physical goodies to get your hands on. Bungie is gearing up for another nerf gun release, this time bringing the Ace of Spaces Hand Cannon to life.

Guardians can also grab a physical seal for the Legend Triumph as well.

That’s everything we know about the 10th-anniversary celebration for Destiny 2 thus far. We’ll be sure to update you here with any further details as they emerge.
