Destiny 2 Deepsight Harmonizer: How to get and what weapons to convert
In The Final Shape, Deepsight Harmonizers continue to be an integral part of Destiny 2 and are often required to get craftable weapons, especially if you don’t want to spend ages farming them.
Getting Deepsight or Red Border weapons is extremely important for any player looking to take on Destiny’s most challenging content. Many of the looter shooter’s best weapons are craftable, and the only way to get craftable weapons is to farm Red Borders.
Unlike random rolls, Red Border weapons can be crafted and fine-tuned to guarantee God Rolls, meta perks, and even Masterwork bonuses. This lets you customize a weapon’s frame, changing which stat receives the +10 Masterwork bonus, which can make a huge difference.
Unfortunately, getting Red Border weapons is difficult, so you are often instead left to rely on Deepsight Harmonizers to acquire the crafted God Rolls you want. Here’s how you can get the most out of this valuable resource.
How to farm Deepsight Harmonizers
The only way to get Deepsight Harmonizers is to progress the Season Pass. A total of eight can be acquired in the Episode: Echoes’ season pass at the following ranks:
- Rank 70 (Free)
- Rank 75 (Premium)
- Rank 85 (Premium)
- Rank 90 (Free)
- Rank 125* (Premium)
- Rank 135* Premium)
- Rank 175** (Premium)
- Rank 185** (Premium)
*Only available in Act II
**Only available in Act III
In a TWID posted on April 5, 2023, Bungie confirmed that the Season Pass would be the sole source of Deepsight Harmonizers for the initial rollout. However, well over a year after that announcement, a secondary source has still yet to be added, with the future of Deepsight Harmonizers still unclear.
How to use Deepsight Harmonizers
Deepsight Harmonizers can be used in Destiny 2 by selecting them in the Mod slot found on all eligible non-Red Border craftable weapons.
If a weapon is eligible, a message will appear when hovering over it that reads, “Deepsight activation is available for this weapon.”
Once the Deepsight Harmonizer is selected, it will immediately convert the chosen weapon into a Red Border. From there, you can simply extract the pattern progress as usual, just like with any other Red Border weapon.
Be aware that craftable weapons dropped exclusively from Raids will require an additional 15 Spoils of Conquest per Deepsight Harmonizer to activate, so you’ll need to partake in raids to convert them.
Best weapons to use Deepsight Harmonizers on
The best weapons to use your Deepsight Harmonizers on are older craftable weapons that are no longer available outside of Banshee and Xur selling them. Alternatively, craftable World Drop and Raid weapons are great choices too, as it can be difficult to farm meta rolls for them.
Season of the Witch saw the introduction of the Exotic Mission Rotator which offers an alternative way to acquire Red Borders for old seasonal weapons. However, outside of the guaranteed weekly rewards, the drop rates of Deepsight weapons are low, limiting the activity’s usefulness for farming craftable guns.
Given this, you’ll still need to rely on Deepsight Harmonizers, and these are all of the recommended weapons to use them on in Echoes Act 2:

The converted weapons you get using Deepsight Harmonizers are strong, but they won’t be enough on their own. For a truly optimized loadout, you’ll also need the best builds possible, be that for either Hunter, Titan, or Warlock. Equally, using top-tier Exotic Weapons is a must to not hold your Fireteam back.
