Solstice returns, bringing back Destiny 2‘s signature summer event, and its 2024 rendition introduces a range of exciting weapons, armor, and other rewards.

Making its first appearance back in 2018 as Solstice of Heroes, this annual event has become a longstanding tradition, making an appearance every year since. Usually starting in July or August, it brings Guardians together in pursuit of a mutual goal – farm lots of event-exclusive loot.

While the loot and unique rewards are a huge reason to get involved, the event’s real purpose is to celebrate everyone’s accomplishments over the last year. It’s a time to feel good about what you’ve achieved while also adding some exciting new gear to your vault.

Solstice is usually a lot of fun, but last year’s event left some Guardians disappointed. In response, Bungie has made some key changes this time around that should keep players entertained, including a range of reissued meta weapons.

When does Solstice 2024 start?

Solstice 2024 started on August 6, 2024, at the weekly reset, with the event going live at 5 PM GMT/10 AM PT/1 PM ET. Unlike with some other Destiny content, Solstice’s rewards are not time-gated, so players can farm everything from day one.

When does Solstice 2024 end?

This year’s Solstice event will run for three weeks until August 27, 2024, giving Guardians plenty of time to farm rewards and god rolls for the weapons they want most.

All Solstice 2024 armor sets

The Solstice event introduces three new armor sets this year, with each class getting one. That means Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks will all have their own armor sets to either earn or buy, with all three being available as rewards.

Those looking to grind the three sets will need to complete Daily Bounties from Eva Levante to earn Armor Alloys. Each armor piece requires 100 Armor Alloy, but since these are ornaments, once you unlock a piece you can freely transmog any existing armor.

Alternatively, you can purchase a premium armor set featuring a different coloration for 1,500 Silver or 6,000 Bright Dust. Once again, these are all ornaments, so they can be used to transmog any existing non-Exotic armor’s appearance while retaining its stats.

Here are the three armor sets available in Solstice 2024, as revealed in Bungie’s Echoes Act 2’s developer livestream:

Solstice 2024 rewards

Solstice offers a range of additional rewards on top of its exclusive weapons and armor sets. This includes rewards for both free-to-play and paid players alike, so everyone can get involved.

The Event Card requires triumphs that can be completed to progress through Solstice. Working through it grants a variety of useful rewards including Enhancement Cores, Prisms, Shards, Raid Banners, an Exotic ship, and more.

Also, completing these 16 triumphs unlocks the Flamekeeper title. Those who have previously earned the title can gild it by completing specific challenges, which is worthwhile as it adds a flashy golden border. This title is one of the easiest to get, so those who still need one should prioritize this event.

If you are willing to pay extra, you can also access the Upgraded Event Card, which contains a handful of cosmetics like the ‘King of the Sea’ sparrow and ‘Worn-In Comfort’ shader. This can be purchased for 1,000 Silver, the equivalent of $9.99 or £8.49.

Solstice 2024 is sure to shake up the meta, so you’ll want to keep on top of the best PvE weapons and best PvP weapons to use in Destiny right now. Equally, using the best Hunter builds, Titan builds, and Warlock builds will make farming the event much easier, letting you earn more loot, god rolls, and rewards.
