With any new video game update there are bound to be issues, especially with live-service titles. This time, Diablo 4 hit players with a whole slew of problems on the launch of Season 5.

Blizzard launched Season of the Infernal Hordes on August 6 at 1 PM ET, and fans were quick to point out issues with the Season 5 patch. They ranged from freezes, black screens, and even crashes.

Players aired their grievances on Reddit, outlining their struggle with running Diablo 4 despite running the game just fine prior to the patch. One fan asked if the game was laggier than normal and wondered if anyone was having similar issues.

This player experienced “a lot of freezes, mobs popping in,” as well as quest markers showing up on the minimap even before the objective spawned. Sure enough, dozens of players responded and made their own posts about it.

With any online game, if an influx of players logged in all at the same time, there would be many connection issues. Knowing this, one of the replies just said to “give it some time and then check back in a few days.”

In another post on the Diablo 4 subreddit, a fan shared a video of how their game ran just after the launch of Season 5. The video presented their character struggling to move, alongside the inability to use the Skill Tree.

Throughout all the Reddit posts speaking out against the troubles with the Season of the Infernal Hordes, there have been a few solutions presented.

One player suggested disabling crossplay in the game’s settings, while another proposed turning down the resolution, though these efforts are likely fruitless. This could merely be a problem of servers being overcrowded for the new season as they struggle to keep up with the massive influx of players.

However, turning off crossplay may help reduce the load on servers and give you a better shot at a more playable experience.

Fans have also noticed an incursion of error code 75 messages popping up. While this error wasn’t new, it could still sour a player’s experience when attempting to play a new Season.
