Diablo 4 unreleased zones are a blast from the past for veteran players
Blizzard EntertainmentTwo unreleased zones of Diablo 4‘s map have been identified in the game’s files, and players are keen to explore them.
Game data from the Steam version of Diablo 4 have shown that rather than having five variables to represent the five zones in Sanctuary, there are actually nine. One of these is for when a player is on the Character Select screen, while the other covers Burning Hells, which you enter during the game’s campaign.
These two have mundane enough explanations. However, here’s where things get interesting: the remaining two were assigned the values “Teganze Plains” and “Torajan Jungle.”
It’s possible that these game files are simply leftovers from zones that were axed during development. Either way, players are already getting hyped about the prospect of Teganze Plains and Torajan Jungle being added.
Diablo 4 players excited by previously unseen map zones
As both zones have appeared in previous entries to the Diablo series, the news has resulted in players sharing fond memories of navigating the region. One Reddit user commented on the topic saying, “I love the D2 jungle, would love to go back […] A lush green forest vibe would be a great environment to add.”
“Getting lost in jungle hell was one of the most memorable experiences in my many years playing Diablo games. Thematically, places like Kurast and Travincal are amazing with their ancient Mayan/Aztec architecture and culture, and I’m really looking forward to exploring a huge open world version of Torajan,” another Redditor added.
Crucially, the return of Teganze Plains and Torajan Jungle could also spell a reintroduction of the Umbaru people and the Witch Doctor class. This idea has particularly excited veteran Diablo fans: “If we get the Witch Doctor I’ll be the happiest person. Favourite class in D3 and now imagine how much cooler he would be with the D4 graphics.”
Players have even kicked off discussions around potential Diablo 4 Witch Doctor builds. Here’s hoping they can bring these plans to fruition sometime soon.
