Chelsea fans trolled as EA FC 24 player ratings reveal “mid team” after $1 billion spent
EA SPORTSAfter one of the worst seasons in recent club history, rumors suggest Chelsa players will see major downgrades in EA FC 24. Understandably, Chelsea supporters received the brunt of the blow.
You would think investing just under a billion in players would equal instant success, but that’s far from the case under new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly. Like a house flipper, the American billionaire purchased the club in May 2022 and started a full renovation.
With over $600 million spent on transfers during the new owner’s first summer, all eyes were on Chelsea entering the 22/23 season. But instead of challenging for a title as some expected, Chelsea floundered to a 12th-place finish and cycled through three managers in the process.
In response to a dreadful season, Boehly cleaned house. 23 players departed the club, and the ambitious owner spent $450 million on new signings, bringing the total bill under his regime to around $1 billion.
However, you wouldn’t be able to tell the club spent that kind of money looking at their leaked EA FC 24 ratings.

Rival supporters particularly called out Chelsea for spending $115 million on an 80-overall Moises Caicedo.
One fan responded: “$115 million just for an 80 overall rating.”
Other players questioned how Chelsea received any high player ratings, as a second user added: “EA was even generous with the ratings. It should’ve been lower than this.
Even Chelsea fans admitted that the ratings are probably accurate, with one disgruntled commenter responding: “We deserve it. Maybe that will wake their playing spirits.”
It’s unclear if these accurately represent the final ratings, but it’s not looking good for the once-dominant football giant.
