EA FC 25 Career Mode is all about building the strongest team possible, but clubs without a lot of funds should look at free agents and contract expiry players to keep costs down.

Before a player’s contract expires in FC 25, managers can sign them on a free transfer during the final year. This means that the club often won’t have to pay a transfer fee to acquire the player, or they’ll be able to sign them at a reduced price.

There are also those without a club at all, who can be picked up right away as long you can agree on their wages and bonuses.

Here are the best free agents and contract expiry players to sign in FC 25 Career Mode.

Real Madrid’s young stopper Andriy Lunin is also in the final year of his deal after the Ukrainian has struggled for game time ahead of Thibaut Courtois.

Some of the world’s elite are also coming towards the end of the current deals, including Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne, who is still very much at the top of his game.

It’s no secret that Liverpool’s Mo Salah could leave on a free if he doesn’t a new deal, and he’s one of the biggest and best contract expiry players in Career Mode. The Egyptian is still likely to cost quite a lot, but be sure to move in before another club comes in and snaps him up.

Both Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi are also in their final year. Although both are nearing the end of their glittering careers, they still have a lot to give if you want to bring them back to Europe for their swansong years.

Spurs star Heung-min Son is coming towards the end of his seven-year contract and is available on the cheap. There’s also the option to pick up Victor Osimhen from Napoli, once his loan move at Galatasaray comes to an end.
