FromSoftware fans think they’ve nailed down the Elden Ring DLC release date thanks to the reveal of a new collectible figure.

Elden Ring cemented itself as one of the greatest RPGs of all time when it took multiple awards including Game of the Year and Best Game Direction in 2022. The game broke sales records for FromSoftware introducing millions of players to their unique brand of gameplay.

Since the announcement of the impending Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, fans of the title have been clamoring for an update. After their hopes for a trailer during The Game Awards 2023 were dashed, players are growing frustrated with FromSoftware.

Looking for clues anywhere they can, some fans believe the Elden Ring DLC is very close thanks to a recent reveal from PureArts. The release window of a new Elden Ring collectible figure from the company started the speculation.

The figures release window of February 2024 has hopeful players donning their tinfoil hats and putting forth claims of “Elden Ring DLC month confirmed”. This is primarily due to the figure’s release coinciding with the game’s two-year anniversary.

Their suppositions are bolstered by an incident last year in which a licensed Elden Ring from Thrustmaster was marketed to launch alongside the DLC. The controller will also be launching in February of 2024.

Unlike Thrustmaster, Pure Arts made no such promises about their figure launching with the Elden Ring DLC. Despite that, fans in the announcement thread are still claiming this as proof of the impending DLC.

Other’s were more hung up on the wording of PureArts post after mistaking it for a DLC announcement. Users referred to the line “Tarnished, you’ve waited long enough” as “bait”.

Rumors have been swirling about a possible shadow drop of Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC and the game’s two-year anniversary on February 25, 2024, would be the best time to do it.

FromSoftware has pulled off similar things in the past by unceremoniously launching DLC for other games with no warning whatsoever.
