Elden Ring fans plan “Kill Mohg Day” before DLC launches
YouTube/ShirrakoElden Ring fans will be gathering in the Lands Between earlier than anticipated, as they’re planning a “Kill Mohg Day” just before the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC launches.
Mohg, Lord of Blood, is an optional boss in Elden Ring, yet he’s important to the lore, as he is tied to Miquella. Mohg stole Miquella’s body within its cocoon, feeding him blood to awaken him, though he was unsuccessful.
The player can face Mohg in Elden Ring, though he can be tricky, thanks to an unblockable attack called Bloodboon Ritual, which affects the boss arena. Mohg’s sorcery can be weakened if the player enters the fight with certain items & potions,
It turns out that there’s more to Mohg’s story than anyone realized, as his voice appeared in the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer. As Miquella is an important character in the DLC, we’ll likely learn more about Mohg and possibly face another version of the Lord of Blood.
Elden Ring fans want a “Kill Mohg Day”
A user on the Elden Ring Reddit has created a thread asking fans to hold a “Kill Mohg Day” on June 20, the day before Shadow of the Erdtree’s launch. Everyone must log into Elden Ring and defeat Mohg to prepare for the DLC.
“I second this,” one player wrote, “I was planning on quickly finishing the game with a few more characters to be ready, but I’ll make sure to do everything EXCEPT Mohg, so I can kill him several times in a row with different characters when Kill Mohg Day arrives.”
“As a suggestion for those who have already killed Mohg on their DLC save files,” one fan suggested, “Throw down your summon signs and help those who haven’t yet. Nothing gets you warmed up for a DLC super boss like some jolly cooperation.”
Much like Christmas Day, some people just can’t wait to kill Mohg. “I have a character that basically lives outside of Mohg’s boss door for me to put my sign down over and over all night because it’s my favorite boss fight,” one user wrote,2 It’s been pretty dead recently, but tonight I got summoned by tons of people presumably setting up for the DLC months in advance.”
FromSoftware fans have banded together to help each other in the past, such as the annual “Return to Yharnam”, where everyone goes back to Bloodborne and aid each other with the bosses. The “Kill Mohg Day” could be an extension of that.
If Mohg truly was the instigator behind Shadow of the Erdtree’s events, then fans are ready to band together and farm him in preparation for the DLC.
