Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree early patch notes – Inventory, Summoning Pool changes, more
FromSoftwareFromSoftware has announced an Elden Ring update releasing on June 20, 2024 alongside the long-awaited Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and there’s a lot more than just new content in store.
Elden Ring players are preparing to return to the Lands Between for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which looks to be a massive expansion that adds new bosses, story content, weapons, and more.
Ahead of the expansion’s June 20, 2024 launch, developer FromSoftware has shared some details on a game update, which will make changes to the base game and serve as a Day One patch for Shadow of the Erdtree. Here’s what it includes.
Elden Ring’s next patch makes helpful inventory and Summoning Pool changes
FromSoftware announced the patch in a Twitter/X post, revealing that it will include bug fixes and balancing changes along with some new features, not all of which have been announced yet.
This includes two changes to Elden Ring’s inventory to make it easier to see and use items you just picked up:
- Newly obtained items will be marked with a “!“.
- A new tab called “Recent Items” has been added to review recently obtained items.
There are also some new Summoning Pool features:
- Active Summoning Pools will now be carried over to NG+.
- Individual Summoning Pools can now be enabled / disabled in the newly added Map Functions Menu. Only active Summoning Pools will be selected when using the Small Golden Effigy.
Additionally, the update will add five new hairstyles, which players can select during character creation or while playing the game.
The devs also teased that additional features not detailed here will be included in the update.
As for when to expect the update, Elden Ring’s servers will undergo maintenance to apply the update on June 20 from 07:00 to 10:00 UTC.
