57-year-old man called an “a—hole” after dumping girlfriend because she can’t have kids

A 57-year-old man took to Reddit to share his break-up with his longtime girlfriend who couldn’t have kids anymore due to her age. 

All women go through menopause, as this is a well-known fact among both women and men. However, for a 55-year-old woman, her boyfriend of 25 years gave her no leeway regarding her body’s inability to give birth. 

Though the break up came as a surprise to his longtime girlfriend, the 57-year-old man seemingly felt no empathy for his partner after she dedicated her entire life towards his aspirations, as the couple chose not to have kids earlier on because the man was opposed to it.

Though he asked for opinions on his breakup, the man may have been surprised to read that he was called an “a—hole” among many other things.

Man claims his life was too “depressing” to stay with his menopausal girlfriend 

An unnamed 57-year-old recently took to Reddit to reveal his breakup story with his 55-year-old girlfriend.

The poster claimed he was against having kids when he and his girlfriend were younger because he thought he would “resent” the children for getting in the way of him making money. 

However, once his girlfriend turned 53 and started having menopause, he realized how “empty” and “depressing” his life was without biological kids.

Though his girlfriend asked him if they could adopt, the man said no, resulting in her calling him “narcissistic” for getting rid of her due to the changes in her physical body.

Since posting to Reddit, the man has received many comments of people siding with his ex-girlfriend, as one reader said, “If this post is real, (the man) is one of the biggest a—holes I’ve ever encountered.”

Another reader agreed he was an a—hole despite their potentially being state laws that kept the couple from marrying, saying, “Ok, he’s still an a—hole. Plenty of people choose not to get married and don’t leave their partners with nothing after 25 years. Clearly, she trusted him and thought he was her life partner.”

The man who typed out three pages full of break-up details to Reddit has not commented back on any of the reader’s opinions.

It is also unknown how the ex-girlfriend is doing. However, the man did say that she was allowed to stay in his beach house for one month’s time until she got back on her feet.
