Addison Rae slams “hurtful” body shaming comments from TikTok trolls
Addison Rae, YouTubeAddison Rae might be one of TikTok’s most popular content creators, but internet fame isn’t always sunshine and roses, as the social media celeb revealed in a series of soul-baring Tweets.
Addison Rae is one of the internet’s fastest-rising stars, boasting over 35 million followers on TikTok due to her viral dance videos and sunny disposition.
Although she’s hailed as one of the platform’s most positive and upbeat personalities, Rae revealed that all is not well in the land of the TikTok famous, admitting that she’s received a slew of negative comments about her body across social media as of late.
In a series of Tweets, Rae opened up about these comments, explaining that although they make her feel “insecure,” she’s dedicated to improving her health for herself.
“I’ve seen 5-10 Tweets & TikToks today talking negatively about my body and weight,” she wrote. “It makes me feel insecure, but luckily, I’m looking at it in a different light. I’ve been very motivated to start eating better and working out everyday to become the healthiest version of myself!”

Despite her positive outlook on the matter, she revealed that the TikTok trolls certainly take a toll on her self-esteem — but she’s using the issue as a means to speak out on body shaming and encouraged her viewers to practice self-love in spite of mean comments.
“It definitely hurts to see people on my fyp calling me ‘a whale’ and saying ‘she’s fat now,’ and I just want to encourage everyone who hears these things about themselves to love yourself!” she continued. “If you are healthy and happy, do NOT listen to these hurtful comments. You are perfect.”

Rae isn’t the only top TikTokker who has dealt with such comments, either; Dixie D’Amelio likewise spoke out on the issue just a month prior, explaining the importance of self-love in the face of mass criticism from online randoms, no matter one’s follower count.
and think that being “too” big or too small changes their overall “rate” is not healthy. Self-love and self confidence are so important because you cannot control what other people think or say.
