AnEsonGib explains Jake Paul’s “crazy” weigh-in push before boxing match
DAZN / Hollywood Life, YouTubeYouTubers Jake Paul and AnEsonGib are preparing to throw down for their first-ever pro boxing match in just a few hours’ time — but they almost threw hands at their weigh-in the day prior.
Although Jake has been open about his apparent apathy concerning Gib’s status as a top YouTuber, that didn’t stop him from getting physical with his opponent just ahead of their January 30 bout.
On January 29, the two gathered alongside other fighters on the Miami Fight Night card for their weigh-in, which proved to be anything but civil. During their faceoff photoshoot, Paul mimicked drawing back a bow and arrow before giving Gib a rough shove, laughing maniacally as he was pulled away from the scuffle.

Needless to say, the kerfuffle incited ample shouts from the crowd, but an ensuing interview with Jake’s British rival revealed his rather nonchalant attitude about the whole ordeal.
According to Gib, the Team 10 founder had merely been trying to “out-crazy” him ahead of their match, but it doesn’t look like AnEson is taking the bait and getting riled up about it.
“I think he’s trying to out-crazy me,” Gib explained in an interview with Hollywood Life. “He won’t be able to. That was a tactic to try and show that he’s ‘about it.’ But it is what it is, he did what he wanted. Now is about tomorrow. Now is about putting it on the line, and seeing if he can put what he’s done into training, into tomorrow.”
The Jake Paul vs AnEsonGib fight is taking place on the all-pro Miami Fight Night card, which will be exclusively streamed live via DAZN.
(Interview begins at 1:09 for mobile viewers)
The event begins at 7 PM PST / 10 PM EST / 2 AM GMT, so make sure to clear your schedule and reset your alarms to catch the action.
While the rivalry between Gib and Paul will be decided tonight, the Brit isn’t Jake’s final destination, with the American YouTuber notably calling out KSI for revenge on his older brother’s loss in their 2019 rematch.
Depending on the outcome, Jake Paul vs Gib could add another chapter to the Paul vs KSI rivalry — and time is quickly ticking down to the fight that will determine this very possibility.
