DrLupo gets emotional after raising over $1 million for St. Jude’s children’s charity
DrLupo, Twitter /St. Jude'sBen ‘DrLupo’ Lupo shared an emotional moment with his wife after announcing that he’d finally reached $1 million dollars in donations for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital during 2018.
The popular steamer announced the news during a 24-hour charity livestream on December 23, before he was unceremoniously killed by a player called FunkOps on Fortnite.
“I don’t even care, FunkOps you enjoy that dude” he said, before his wife came rushing into the room to give him a hug. “That’s a million dollars in one year. I love you.”
The clip below, which was saved by MrsDrLupo, allowed the couple to capture and share their emotional reaction after they had reached their donation goal.
The pair have since tweeted about the accomplishment, paying homage to everybody who go involved to help them on their journey.
“Thank you for being part of something bigger than yourself. Love like this makes the world go round.” Lupo tweeted. “This is why I stream”.

Lupo and his fans helped raise $356,000 at Florida’s GuardianCon event during back in the summer of 2018, which at the time took him up to $659,000 in donations.
On December 21, the streamer had raised $730,000 and now – since the livestream has ended on December 23 – that total has eclipsed the $1 million mark.
Both Ben Lupo and his wife have been congratulated by many people from the gaming community, fans and streamers alike, with names such as Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, Dennis “Cloak” Lepore taking a minute of their time to show their appreciation.
