Ex-UFC fighter wants to throw hands with Jake Paul after praising him

Former UFC fighter Mark Hunt has revealed he would be down to “throw hands” with Jake Paul while complimenting the YouTuber’s career so far.

Former professional mixed martial artist and kickboxer Mark Hunt competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) until 2018 before announcing he would not seek to renew his contract.

However, the possibility of Hunt returning to the ring seems not entirely crossed out after an ambiguous post on X (formerly Twitter) left many speculating over a potential fight with Jake Paul.

Now on an episode of The MMA Hour, Hunt has divulged what exactly his tweet was all about and how he feels about taking on the younger Paul brother.

Appearing on the YouTube channel ‘MMAFightingonSBN‘, Hunt was asked, “I’ve seen you also tweet at Jake Paul, is this a fight that you want?”

“Is that the fight that he wants?” Hunt replied. “I always thought he was kind of small for it, but if he wants to throw hands, I’ll throw hands with anyone, to be honest. That ain’t a problem.”

When asked whether the former UFC fighter was “impressed” with Paul, Hunt said, “I actually like what he’s done. He’s actually done a lot of good things for himself and fighting. I mean he can sell out stadiums as being a YouTuber, so I have respect for that. But as skill level goes, I don’t think so, to be honest. But who knows what the future holds?”

Viewers, however, weren’t entirely convinced the fight would ever happen and expressed skepticism over the possibility that Paul would accept Hunt’s invitation.

One person wrote, “Hunt would need one shot at about 25% power to KO Jake. Jake will never take this boxing match. He’ll stick to boxing older MMA wrestlers, and octagenarian basketball players to improve his ‘boxing legacy. The kid’s making [money] though.”
