Hololive’s Mori Calliope can’t believe her song is playing on Japanese radio stations

Hololive member, music artist, and star VTuber Mori Calliope couldn’t believe it when a fan claimed her song ‘CapSule’ was playing on Japanese radio stations.

Mori Calliope is one of the most popular VTubers in the space right now.

She’s more than a virtual streamer, though; she’s also a budding music artist, having recently released her first full-length album, ‘UnAlive,’ back in March, with aniother on the way.

Boasting over 2 million YouTube subscribers, Mori is also under the Hololive banner — one of the biggest VTuber agencies out there.

Mori Calliope is a hugely popular VTuber and budding music artist.

While she’s got an incredibly popular online presence, it seems that she wasn’t aware that her influence also spans into the real world, as one of her original songs is apparently on the radio waves.

During a recent stream with fellow VTuber Ironmouse, a fan chimed in to let Calli know that her song ‘CapSule’ was apparently playing on the radio in Japan.

Callie Ironmouse answer fan question
A fan asked if Calliope had heard her own song on the radio.

“Since ‘CapSule’ has been getting radio time in Japan , I wanted to ask: Have you heard it or spent time trying to catch it on the air? How does it feel to hear one of your songs playing on traditional media?” the fan asked.

Calli was apparently flabbergasted at the news. “Oh, I didn’t know that,” she admitted. “I didn’t know it was on the radio. Huh? What? I didn’t know that people still listen to the radio. I thought it was everybody’s using like, Spotify and stuff like that.”

“That, I could believe. But, wow! Dang! Okay! It’s on the radio. Yay! Congrats to me on that! Woo. I didn’t know that. Wow, I’m really happy. …I’d love to catch it sometime if I’m chilling at the convenience store, grabbing like a piece of bread or something.”

Ironmouse was also shocked by the news and congratulated her friend on her big win — as did her fans in the comments section.

This major breakthrough comes just a few months after Calli signed to Universal Music. Who knows where life will take this star next — but it’s certainly cool to see a VTuber making major strides in the mainstream.
