IShowSpeed roasted for calling Stray Kids’ Bang Chan a BTS member

IShowSpeed got called out on social media by fans who were frustrated with how he spoke to Korean boy band star Bang Chan.

The top streamer caught some heat from viewers on Twitter after he responded to a kind message from the Stray Kids star, who said that he thought Speed’s content was “really funny”.

During his response, Speed called Bang Chan a member of BTS, another well-known South Korean boy band, which didn’t go down well with fans of both groups.

When asked about IShowSpeed during a Q and A, Bang Chan said: “I feel like the effort he puts out to what he does is just phenomenal, it’s just really really cool. He’s just so funny… I’m a big fan of Speed.

IShowSpeed called out for getting Bang Chan’s music group wrong

Speed’s reaction to the clip was genuine; the streamer broke into a big smile and immediately started looking for Bang Chan on social media.

After finding the musician’s account on Instagram, Speed started recording a thank you message for him, saying that he appreciated the support and telling him to “keep grinding”.

However, he addressed the artist as “Bang Chan BTS”, assuming that he was part of the wrong Korean music group.

Several viewers felt that this was “disrespectful”, with one user on Twitter saying: “I just saw the video of IShowSpeed reacting to and following Bang Chan on insta… bro was disrespectful?? The BTS part… gave me the ick”.

Another said: “I really can’t stand TikTok stays because why are they laughing at IShowSpeed’s calling Chan BTS?
