Man creates 50-foot-long rug inspired by CVS Pharmacy receipt
TikTok: Unnecessary InventionsA man on TikTok has created a 50-foot-long rug that was inspired by the super-long receipts customers get when they purchase products from CVS Pharmacy.
With over 6.5M followers on TikTok, Unnecessary Inventions has gone viral more than a handful of times by creating wildly interesting items.
As his name states, nearly all of his inventions are “unnecessary,” although some have proven to have more interest than others. With creations like the lonely lounger and a floppy bathroom phone mount, he’s definitely shown off his creativity plenty of times.
In his latest endeavor, the TikToker has created a 50 foot long rug that was designed to look like a CVS Pharmacy receipt.
Man makes 50ft long CVS receipt rug
Uploaded in mid-January 2024, Unnecessary Inventions shared his design process behind the 50ft-long rug.
“CVS receipts are always way too long, so I decided to recreate one of my receipts into a rug that stretches 50 feet across my design studio,” he said.
He also learned that customers can download the font used on CVS receipts off of the internet. Thus, he took to Photoshop to make the design before sending it off to a third-party rug manufacturer.
Although the rug is essentially an exact replica of one of his recent receipts from the store, he made sure to add a few personal touches, like listing himself as the employee running the register.
Many took to the comments to share their thoughts on the creation.
“I wish I had rug receipt money,” one user replied.
Another commented: “I would’ve tried to return the fish. when they ask for the receipt, hand them the rug.”
“I used to work at a CVS, I had a customers receipt almost be as long as I am tall,” a third user said.
CVS pharmacy usually puts a handful of coupons at the end of their reciepts, and people are split on how they feel about it. Many think that the company could switch to digital offers, while others enjoy having the physical paper to keep track of.
