A man on TikTok has gone viral after accidentally buying 100 golf carts in an auction where he only meant to purchase one.

In small towns around the United States, you’ll likely find more than a handful of people driving around town or their property on a golf cart.

TikToker thehungryhobo is one of those people, and took to a local auction to get ahold of one for his family.

He ended up winning the bid, but quickly found out that he was spending more money than he had previously planned.

In a clip on March 4, 2024, the TikToker shows several trailers full of golf carts. “When you didn’t understand that the auction was for 100 times your money,” he said in text on the video. “I hope the wife doesn’t notice our back yard.”

The man didn’t speak in the recording but shared more insight into the auction mishap in the caption.

“I didn’t realize until it was too late and I was highest bidder for A golf cart. Little did I know that it was that price times 100,” thehungryhobo said.

“Oh to be a fly on the wall when you had to break that news to the wife,” one user replied.

Another said: “So what you’re saying is you have some carts on Marketplace for good deals?”

“Hope you got a good deal per cart, even at a steal it seems like an easy 75-100k you had to drop. Did they have batteries?” a third asked.

A fourth replied: “How does this happen accidentally; my bank account can only afford 1.”

It’s unknown whether the TikToker has any school aged kids, but if he does, he could become the next “genius” dad to drive them to school.
