An airline passenger says he was offered just a $60 voucher after he was stuck in an airplane bathroom for over an hour and suffered injuries.

Out of all the places one can be, an airplane bathroom has got to be one of the worst, right up there with being glued to your chair and forced to watch Cats on Netflix.

Unfortunately for a 37-year-old traveling on low-budget airline SpiceJet, that’s exactly what happened when he went to use the bathroom and found himself stuck as flight attendants couldn’t get the door open.

To make matters worse, the man says he suffered injuries as the plane was landing and was offered little in the way of assistance during the whole ordeal, which he filmed.

Airline offers man $60 after “traumatic” bathroom experience

The man, a software professional on a flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru, was passed a note from staff saying “do not panic” as he remained trapped in the bathroom.

However, according to the man, he was injured when the plane landed and he was tossed around like a rag doll.

“I was traumatized, dazed and injured as I was thrown around inside the toilet as the plane landed in Bengaluru. There was no medical assistance at all,” he said. “When I came out, I had bruises, and my vision was blurred for a while.”

He further noted that he was offered a $60 voucher as compensation, but didn’t accept it. SpiceJet, meanwhile, claims the passenger was provided a full refund and medical support.

A ground staffer said the situation was “horrific” for the man as he was seated on the toilet during the landing.

The passenger revealed he plans to sue the airline and make a formal complaint for putting his life at risk.

This is hardly the first crappy airplane incident so far in 2024. Earlier this year, a passenger revealed his own flight from hell when another flyer smeared feces on a seat.
