MrBeast spent $30,000 on lottery tickets, with a surprising result

Popular YouTuber Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson spent a whopping $30,000 on scratch-off lottery tickets in an effort to win a $10 million prize.

Each ticket cost $30 each, meaning that Beast bought $1,000 lottery tickets in total.

MrBeast acknowledged the ridiculous amount of money he spent for the video, and cited his budget for other, similarly expensive projects. “I know you guys are probably like, ‘Wow, you guys are super spoiled,’” he said. “My last video, I spent $25,000 and it wasn’t even sponsored.. $1,000 barely even covers a fraction of my videos.”

He admitted that he was able to purchase the tickets through his sponsor, Honey, a browser add-on that scours the internet for coupon codes and applies them to users’ carts upon checkout at various websites.

The tickets awarded MrBeast anywhere from $40 to $1,000, and he ended up cashing out at $20,380. This meant that the YouTuber lost over $9,500.

The experiment took MrBeast and his crew several days (and ample manpower) to complete, with the help of a lottery application on his phone.

This isn’t the first time MrBeast has spent ludicrous amounts of money for his videos, either. He likewise blew $10,000 on a 2,256 mile trip through Uber, and has donated similarly large sums to charities, the homeless, and even his favorite Twitch streamers.

He also discouraged his viewers from gambling, citing the amount of money he would likely lose in the challenge. While MrBeast could afford his $9,000 loss thanks to his sponsors, we can’t say the same for the average Joe.
