During his March 8 upload, YouTube king Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg revealed how to tell if someone is a real “gamer” while also sharing some hilarious takes on gaming.

PewDiePie is the most popular YouTuber in the world with millions of subscribers to his channel. The Swedish entertainer got his start in gaming, and even went back to those roots in 2019 by launching his successful Minecraft series.

However during his latest upload, the personality sarcastically revealed the true way to to tell if someone is a gamer or not. And it’s every bit as comical as you would expect it to be.

PewDiePie on what separates “real” gamers

In his latest video, the YouTuber reacted to a game show where six contestants had to guess which among them was the fake gamer. He began the segment with a joke that claimed watching your brother play or playing on your phone doesn’t count as gaming.

He also opened up about growing up in Sweden, and having to hide that he played video games. “I remember when I was young, I couldn’t tell people I was a gamer. I would be judged. Called pathetic. “You played games you nerd!” Now people are faking being gamers,” he said.

The Swedish star then revealed how to spot a fake gamer. “You know what’s a great way to figure out if someone is a fake gamer? Ask them: “Rate your favorite Dark Souls games.” Or just Souls game in general. See what order they do. And if they pick Dark Souls 2 at the top, you just throw them out of there!”

The popular YouTuber watched a game show about figuring out who is a fake gamer.

When one of the contestants used their love of Kingdom Hearts to prove they weren’t the fake gamer, PewDiePie said “I believe this guy, because anyone who has Kingdom Hearts as their favorite game cannot shut the f**k up about it.  So I believe him, he’s 100% clear!”

The popular entertainer also had a similar analysis for Nintendo’s Paper Mario franchise. “Paper Mario, that’s another Kingdom Hearts type of game that people grew up on. So I believe that would be someone’s favorite game.”

Another telltale sign to spot a true gamer? According to Pewds, it’s unfunny shirts. “The one thing gamers love, it’s unfunny shirts. They just can’t get enough. I know a couple of people are watching this right now, and they’re looking down going “Ah f**k, goddammit he’s right!” he said, breaking into laughter.

It should be noted that PewDiePie was being tongue and cheek, and has a long history of calling himself a “pro gamer” with “epic” abilities. His comical takes on the medium will no doubt have his fans in stitches.

Despite taking a month-long break in January, the Swedish personality’s return has been met with insane views. His first Minecraft video since December has already racked up close to 8 million views in just a couple of days.
