Popular YouTuber Shane Dawson’s ongoing documentary series over social media star Jake Paul is reportedly making him millions, according to industry experts.

Influencer marketing manager Jessica Brennan of agency Specialist Works held that the YouTuber could be getting paid anywhere from $85,000 to $170,000 for a single video – leading to massive monthly income.

“The fact that he’s probably making around 15 videos a month means he’s earning around two million dollars a month,” she told the BBC’s Radio 1 Newsbeat.

Dawson’s current series has an upload schedule of Monday/Wednesday/Friday, but has no formal cap – meaning that it could potentially feature a slew of episodes.

Dawson’s previous series, covering makeup artist Jeffree Star and YouTuber Tana Mongeau, feature five and three videos respectively, with Star’s piece being the most recent addition to his portfolio aside from his ongoing project over Jake Paul.

It seems as though Dawson is becoming more and more ambitious with each project – which likewise means more cash.

Brennan held that Dawson’s attractiveness to advertisers stems from the series’ currently viral nature, as it has been in YouTube’s top trending videos with each episode’s release.

“It means that these types of people are merging into a celebrity, more than just a YouTuber, because of how well they are known outside of their platform,” Brennan explained.

Dawson’s quick coverage of controversial figures has earned him praise and criticism alike, with his most recent controversy stemming from his treatment of Antisocial Personality Disorder in the second episode of ‘The Mind of Jake Paul.’
