Streamer celebrates major viewership milestone in strangest way possible
Escape From Tarkov streamer ‘Pestily’ had some rather strange reactions to hitting major viewership milestones on Twitch.
Pestily is a veteran Escape From Tarkov streamer that many consider to be the face of the tactical first-person shooter on Twitch.
Tarkov’s developers, Battlestate Games, recently added drops on Twitch – allowing viewers to earn in-game items by watching broadcasts. This includes weapons, gear, and other highly sought-after rare items.
Thanks to this, many streamers have seen a significant increase in viewership, especially Pestily, who has been riding the wave and quickly breaking his personal records.
In a relatively short amount of time, the streamer managed to break 25,000 viewers and strangely called his dad live on stream to celebrate. The two had a short chat, where the Australian told his dad to go to Twitch and look at the #1 for Tarkov, which was him.
His dad simply called it “good news” before moving on to more important topics, like house chores and asking Pestily what he’s been up to.
The call ended shortly after and Pestily continued with his stream. The bizarre reactions only intensified, however, as the Aussie reached another milestone, hitting 30,000 viewers, and brought his microwave into the stream.
He didn’t say much about what he was doing, he simply put the microwave on his lap, placed his keyboard on it and finally spoke. “We’ll do a raid with a microwave on my lap, how about that – is that content?”
His viewers seemed pretty excited about the event, spamming “microwave” and ‘pogchamps’ throughout. However, other viewers were dissatisfied and asked for the fridge instead.
So far Pestily hasn’t continued his bizarre celebrations, but he has promised a “special gift” if he manages to reach 50,000 concurrent viewers.
The gift has yet to be revealed, although to top the things he’s done so far will take something really special.
