In a viral rant, a Target employee revealed that she’s sick of people addressing her according to her name tag.

According to Name Tag Pros, name tags are a highly effective tool when it comes to avoiding confusion and helping a company’s branding.

However, a TikToker recently took to the platform to share her views on the matter, claiming that having strangers know her name made her feel uncomfortable.

Captioned “When customers address me by my first name like they know me,” the six-second video features a voiceover from Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta, Morgan mouths a scene from the show where Tokyo Vanity tells Karlie Redd:

“B**ch, I don’t play with you like that.” As Karlie’s voice asks “Who you calling a b**ch?” Morgan responds by saying, “You! You! I don’t play that.”

TikTok debate employee who hates wearing name tag

With over 400,000 views, the video went viral on the platform, with many quick to weigh in on the debate.

“My dad does this! I feel so bad for the workers, like I know they hate it,” one shared, agreeing with Morgan.

“I literally have my name covered with my badge and people still manage to figure my name out,” another shared.

However, some disagreed, arguing: “This mindset is so strange to me because I genuinely appreciate when customers would use my name. I feel like it’s a sign of respect, they see you more than just some random worker.”

One worker actively chose to hide their name tag, stating: “Be walkin into work everyday hearing ‘where’s your name tag’ and every single day I ‘left it on my dresser’.”

Another woman went viral on TikTok after working a full shift at Target for free.
