This shocking reveal had The Traitors UK Series 2 viewers jumping out of their seats
BBCViewers anticipated thrilling plot twists when The Traitors UK Series 2 aired, however, they were baffled to find that there was a mother-son duo among the contestants. Here is how the fans reacted.
The Traitors UK Series 2 returned on BBC One and iPlayer earlier in January 2024 and fans reacted very positively to the new season premiere.
The Traitors centers around 22 contestants who get placed in Ardross Castle located north of Inverness. They are divided into two groups the ‘faithful’ and ‘traitors’ – both aiming to eliminate the other and win up to £120,000. Maneuvering all this chaos would be the host Claudia Winkleman.
Viewers expected the psychological thriller to have them on their toes, but they were surprised to discover that two of its contestants, Diane and Ross, were related to each other.
The Traitors fans thrilled by shock Diane and Ross reveal
The BBC iPlayer Instagram posted a clip from the show where Diane and Ross were seen enjoying having this shared secret.
In the clip, the contestants cornered Diane for a conversation and jokingly said that they thought her son was also among the cast members. Hearing the conversation Ross got very anxious but was then relieved to find that his co-stars suspected Paul to be Diane’s son.
Many viewers were so impressed by the reveal that they said it was the most unexpected thing they had ever watched. One such viewer commented that it was the, “Best reveal on a reality TV ever!!! 🤭👏👏👏🤩,” while another fan wrote, “I literally jumped out of my seat when this reveal happened!”
Many fans of the show believe it was cruel and unfair of the producers to end the shocking reveal with such a huge cliffhanger writing, “I can’t cope waiting 😭😭😭”
Others discussed the mother-son duo on Reddit as well saying, “Their roast dinner convo tonight was iconic, I kind of love them, although Diane is terrifying 😅”
Viewers also admitted to being impressed by Diane’s acting skills believing that she would’ve made a great traitor replying, “pls her poker face at that point was better than some of the traitors half the time”
The Traitors UK airs on BBC One at 21:00 GMT every Wednesday after January 3. The first three episodes are available to watch on iPlayer as well.
