TikToker stunned after restaurant receives reservation for 91 people

TikTok is one of the most popular apps for multi-part storytime videos.
We’ve shared quite a few of these sagas on Dexerto — just last week, a man had to explain the viral video of his ex-girlfriend crying and yelling at him in an airport, requiring multiple TikToks to set the record straight.
Now, another shocking tale has been added to the ever-growing annals of TikTok history…and this one’s a doozy, especially for those in the restaurant biz.
TikToker ‘ophy’ has gained a jaw-dropping 7.8 million views on a video that’s sending the internet for a loop. In the short clip, she shows herself and her fellow wait staff flabbergasted that they just received a table for 91 people.

She shows the actual reservation on a computer, for good measure, before cutting to a clip of herself and another waitress with text that reads: “We’re not closing tonight.”

Ophy elaborated on the events of the evening in a follow-up video, which has garnered over 1 million views at the time of writing.
According to ophy, the guests started coming in at 6 PM and didn’t leave until 9 PM. The TikToker says that she was approached by the group and told they had a “party of 51 people coming” — and “40 more” were on the way. She says the party was there for a sports tournament.
“We ended up seating a whole section and a half, I believe, or a couple sections for that group,” she continued. “Meanwhile, we were also taking other tables of 6, 9, 12 [people].”
Although ophy isn’t sure what the tip ended up being at the time of her video, she did say the table left “chocolate macadamia nuts,” which she said was “super nice” of them.

Commenters, however, aren’t impressed by the ordeal.
“They should’ve catered at home or something, a reservation of 91 is doing too much,” one user wrote.
However, Ophy claims that her restaurant doesn’t even take reservations, leading to further outrage in the comments.
“If there isn’t reservations, then they should’ve called just to give a heads up,” another said.
“At that point, they could’ve booked a venue if they had nearly 100 people?” another posited.
Ophy’s waitressing nightmare has become a viral story, but it’s not the first of its kind by far; another food-related debacle that took TikTok by storm saw a random man receive free DoorDash orders for several days with no explanation.
