Instagram has been one of the most popular social media platforms for years now, and is one of the first places creators go in order to keep in touch with their followers, and share some of their favorite pictures and videos from their lives.
Users are able to access more features on the app by going to the settings on their profile, clicking ‘account,’ and tapping on ‘switch to professional account.’
These features are generally to help creators keep a closer eye on their stats, which may help them to figure out the best strategy for running their social media account.
Impressions are one aspect of a post that users can check — but what exactly are impressions?
What do impressions mean on Instagram?
Impressions refer to how many times your content has been shown to users on Instagram, so every time someone sees your post on their feed, that would count as an impression each time.
However, it’s important to note that the number of impressions does not equate to the number of users that have seen your post, as one account viewing your post multiple times will count for multiple impressions. Reach, however, is the number of unique users that have seen your posts.

If you want to see information about your impressions on the platform, you can check your insights by going to your profile page, clicking on the three lines, and then tapping ‘Insights’ (note: as explained above, you will need to switch your account to a professional account in order to do this.)
You can view stats for individual posts by navigating to the post you want to check and clicking ‘view insights’ underneath the image.
